<itunes:summary>It is difficult to imagine a composer that knows how to perfectly define moments on film with music, yet each time I watch a film scored by Deborah Lurie, I realize her abilities as a composer give her the great gift of creating movie magic. Blending a perfect balance of melody and color, Deborah Lurie has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry. She has served as a string arranger for dozens of pop artists in addition to providing additional music for scores composed by Danny Elfman, Christopher Young, and John Ottman. In our special Episode 4 of FilmTracks, we will dive into her creative process - what inspires her, and how she continues to have a unique voice in the composing world. Highlights include Footloose, 9, An Unfinished Life, and her string arrangements to 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri from the Twilight: Breaking Dawn soundtrack.

<itunes:summary>Independent artists have always been at the forefront of social and cultural change, and it was only a matter of time before someone recognized that combining film and this style of music could transcend film to unimaginable heights. In this week's episode, Andrew and Jessie will dive into some obscure and overlooked albums composed by indie artists - their lasting impact on us, and some neat scenes that highlight the genius behind the music. Is there a push to get more indie artists to do soundtracks? Is this still an 'indie' feature film style, or is it bleeding into the majors? Tune in at 5PM today to hear the discussion and some cool music.
