When we’re not broadcasting live from the Trigg.la studio, we’re still hard at work at The Script Reporter talking to writers and recording great audio interviews for your pleasure. We’re pleased to launch our first bonus audio podcast today with comedian, Chris Gethard.
For those unfamiliar with Chris, he’s the host of The Chris Gethard Show, a public access show based in NYC that you can watch live every Wed. night at 11 p.m. EST at www.thechrisgethardshow.com. The show is also downloadable on iTunes. He’s been around the New York comedy scene for a while. He’s a regular at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NYC (where The Chris Gethard Show got its start) and was also a guest writer for Saturday Night Live. He also appeared on the short-lived Comedy Central show, Big Lake.
Chris got national attention last year when he got P. Diddy to appear at the UCB Theatre in NYC through a twitter campaign using the hashtag #diddygethard. (Read it phonetically and it sounds like “Diddy Get Hard,” which only made the campaign funnier). P. Diddy showed up and performed improv with Chris and the UCB cast. You’ll hear how that event came about in the podcast.
Chris has a new book out now called, A Bad Thing I’m About to Do, which contains true (and hilarious) stories from Chris’s life. Anecdotes from his life growing up in New Jersey, to his days at Rutgers College, to living in NYC. It’s a great read and highly recommended.
