The new year means even more great podcasts on a variety of subjects! We are excited to announce that today, January 5, will be the start of our new interview-based podcast, The Script Reporter.
The Script Reporter is all about the writer. Hosted by Joshua Stecker, former west coast editor of Script Magazine, The Script Reporter is a one-on-one interview podcast focusing on scribes from all aspects of the entertainment industry. From screenwriters to playwrights, comic book writers to novelists, and all parts in between, The Script Reporter brings you revealing, thought-provoking, educational and entertaining interviews with today’s working writers, all at the top of their game in industries they love. Learn about their process, struggles, methods and strokes of luck that propelled them from “aspiring” to “working” writers. Who knows? You just might learn that one piece of advice that can push you towards a successful writing career.
On the debut show of The Script Reporter, Joshua talks with screenwriter Pen Densham (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, The Outer Limits) about his career in the industry, starting with his screen debut riding atop a live alligator for a theatrical short film made by his parents. Densham, an award-winning writer/producer/director and USC adjunct professor, recently released a book for screenwriters, “Riding the Alligator,” which explores specific screenplay writing techniques while also imparting industry-tested strategies for carving a successful, long-term career. Densham’s invaluable knowledge is a must for any writer to soak in and apply.
